What a change... thanks :)

Last year was such a busy year. That's a bit of an understatement really. I remember blogging all that I did in a day, because I wanted to compare last year to this year. I wanted to be able to look back, in a years time, once I had resigned and was living my dream job... and remember. And be thankful. And I am SO very thankful. Last year everything flew by in a blur. Between working two jobs, making it to kinder sessions, speech therapy, swimming lessons and all the other bits ans pieces we mums have to take care of, well, there was not much free time. Half way through the year, when Boss' son... I can say Nick now can't I :) Nick the Prick... sorry, getting carried away now. Anyway, another morning to more post it noted crap, and more lies, and more blah stuff, I decided enough was enough, and in tears called Brett to say I wanted to leave this job. That I did think I could make photography work. That I WOULD MAKE IT WORK. I just needed out. And you girls. You were so good to me. Day after day, you repeatedly posted encouraging comments to me. All of those comments meant so much to me. One of them in particular really stuck with me. Miss Jane! You said "in a year you'll look back and wonder why you didn't do it earlier". Miss Jane, I knew then that you would be right, and I know for sure today that you were right!

For a little recap on a 'standard' day this time last year... read here.

And for comparision here's a run down of today. OK, so it's school holidays and it means I can be even slacker... but I'll do another one next week when we are back into routine (or maybe the week after when were really are back in routine)

Woke up to my gorgeous munchkins climbing all over me, playing, hiding under my doona and asking for breaky. Got up, got their breaky and started on a few little chores. Made beds, collected washing etc. Showered, dressed, got kids dressed, tidied up rooms a little... played. We made coloured iceblocks with water and food dye. You'll see why soon. Boys played together. I popped into study, checked emails, checked bank balances, made a few phone calls, then back out to play with my boys. Made lunch, tidied up family room, organised play date for Liam, entertained friends (play date, mum and baby sister). Boys all made paintings with the coloured iceblocks. Just put paper into a baking tin, and rubbed the iceblocks all over. Made pictures, mirrored folded paintings, and some butterflies. Put them up to dry, and played some more. Friends left. Made dinner. Brett home, ate dinner. Boys in bath. Sat on couch with hubby and had coffee, Brett (his shift starts) gets boys out, pj'd, warm drinks and bed, I head to study to do an hour of work, then go watch Desp Housewives... ok, I do my accounts at the same time.

Ahhhh, such an improvement. THANKYOU, THANKYOU, THANKYOU to all of you who gave me the support and encouragement to take the step. Some of you probably don't even realise the impact you have had on my life, but let me tell you... ITS HUGE!

I seriously don't know where I would be today, without you girls.
xx

I too remember those posts last year Katie......such a HUGE decision....but such the correct one in more than one way.....it has allowed you to grow as a person and to also spend more time with your family doing what you love doing.....and getting paid to do something you are passionate about!
You have also shown that you can challenge yourself by heading in a new direction with your work.....you have made it work...so give yourself some credit here.....starting a business of your own was such a HUGE thing to do.......not only did you achieve that.....your business has blossomed and grown with you....CONGRATULATIONS!

welcome to my world said...
