Mothers day

I had a great day today. Brett sneaked out of bed with the boys, and they made me eggs benadict, and bought it in to me while I was still in bed, along with my pressies :) It's my first mothers day as a school mummy, so my first experience with the school stall thing. I was so excited to see what he chose (although I did get a little glimps on Friday afternoon, but I tried really hard not to see... and I also had to remind Liam a few times last week that the thing he was making in art, and trying to explaine to me... I wasn't really supposed to know about. LOL. Anyway, along with my breaky in bed, I got a pink daisy bush - "pink because I am a girl" :) Some bubble bath - "because in the shower I have to stand up, but if I have a bath I can sit down and rest" :) And a treasure box with a painted hand and poem, an "I love you" door hanger (the thing he'd been making in art) and a card (which I kind of knew about that one, because I designed it, and helped his class make it) :) So special. And... I also got some time along to scrap :) I finished off my Scrapware one, and did two for Crafty Matters. I'm a bit addicted to this stuff now!
Here is the Scrapware one. This one is about Ethan's fear of monsters. He runs through the house at night, in the dark crying "scare monty". I started telling him Elmo was a monster, to try and reduce the fear. When the flowers arrived I just knew I had to turn one into Elmo. It's a bit hard to see in this scan, but the Scrapware is painted red (MM Cranberry), then toothpick painted with white dots, then glazed with a thick coat of dimensional magic. Elmo is painted red, then punched cardstock shapes were added for his face, then a thick coat of dimensional magic. The journalling, explaining the whole long story of Ethan's fear of monsters, is on the pull out tag behing the photo.
Can't share the Crafty Matters one just yet, but I LOVE them. I feel like my mojo is comming back. And it's been MIA for quite some time! I think now that I am not doing the office job anymore, I am getting my creative outlet though photography, and not needing to scrap. I've been trying to make Friday nights my scrapping time, and I am enjoying it again. Don't want to speak too soon though.

It was even more special that Brett got up early with them and made me breaky because he is now SO SICK! With all the antibiotics he's had and is still having pumped through him, he has just about NO immune system left, and has found one nasty virus to bring home. Chesty/coughing/eyes watering/headachy/sore throat kind of thing. Poor thing. He just can't catch a break at the moment.

We went back to see the specialist yesterday. She said the celulitus has almost gone, but would like him to have another jab... just when he thought he was over those horrid needles. (the antibiotic ones HURT!) There is still swelling in his gum, so he's still one three different oral antibiotics, and will drop down to two later this week. Still on high doses though. It is starting to make him feel a little yucky, so he started on some Inner Health tablets today - and that reminds me I have to go make up some fresh yoghurt. He's also on Olive Leaf Extract to help boost his immune system and hopefully get rid of the virus (we are assuming it's a virus, cos there is no way anything bacterial could be in him with all the antibiotics! LOL)

He's going back to work tomorrow, but I don't know if he'll make it through the whole day. It's been really nice having him home though. Even if it does throw my routine out the window. Hope you all had a great mothers day too.

Hi Susan (smiles1965) here again.

So glad you had an enjoyable Mother's day. Kids love choosing things to buy for us at the school stall don't they.

Poor Brett, he really is having a rough time isn't he. I do hope going back to work won't make him more tired.

Wishing him all the best. I hope this week is the last he will be feeling sick for a very long time.

Have a great week and take good care of yourself. Love from Susan (smiles1965) xxoo

Oh Kate, your poor DH!! I'm glad he's on the mend, and I can totally relate to the whole missing tooth thing - I was born without an adult eye tooth, and when I was 16 (after 2yrs of braces!) had a prosthetic tooth capped in. It fell out last year, and I've had a plate with a prosthetic tooth since. Much as I would much prefer the implanted prosthetic tooth, the $500 for the plate was a lot more likely than the $3000 for the prosthetic! However, that is the first thing on the list when I start working next year....all in the name of vanity, lol!
