He's improving

Brett is now of massive doses of antibiotics. He's on double doses of three different antibiotics, plus daily injections. But the swelling is comming down. It's been very scarey, because the infection being in his face, is close to his brain, and not being contained in an abscess it can easily spread. He's said I can put a photo of him yesterday, at his worst, on here, which I might do tomorrow, but I appologise now, and warn you, you may not want to check back if you are ooozy in the tummy. Cass, that means you LOL!

When something like this happens, you realise how fast your world could be turned upside down. And what is really important. I made the decision to take a few days off working, and spend the evenings with my boys again. Tonight we have had a really nice night. We cranked up the chimnea, dragged the Club Lounge couches from the party out onto the deck, and toasted raisin toast on the fire. Perfect :)

Now I'm off to bed early. We didn't leave the speciallist until midnight last night.

Thanks so much to all of you who have called, sent text messages and email, and left comments here. I really appreciate you thinking of us, and all the offers for help.

Glad to hear things are healing for Brett. Life sure is precious isn't it, and frivolous things like work (even if you do love it!) are nothing compared to family :) Sounds like you had a great night together Katie :)
Will keep the prayers coming.

Thank goodness! I said a few prayers yesterday as I could tell from your last blog entry it was getting very serious.

Hope he continues to improve today and over the week end. Sending lots of get well wishes his way.

Love from Susan (smiles1965) at Scrap Pile :)

I'm so glad Brett is on the improve!
Yes, it only takes something like that to shock you and remind you where your priorities are.

So glad to hear that Brett is on the mend Katie. I know how bad an infection like that is - my FIL suffers from Cellulitis (spell?) and it hits hard and fast. All my best
Kim

Glad to here that Brett is improving. I so hate going to the dentist so he wins loads of Brownie points and a gold star from me. Hope that the Dr can repair it for him quickly.

Glad to hear Brett is improving Katie.......you are right though when you say how quickly your world can be turned upside down when an illness of a loved one happens....it's so emotionally draining and you just have to prioritise what is really important in your day....take care...
