layouts, and prayers for my dad.

What a busy couple of days... and it's still not over yet. Just a (not so) quick catch up post for tonight.

Friday was as busy as I'd said it would be. The kids photos went well, although I am still to edit them. This light was a bit of an issue, as the last few kids were being done, the sun started to shine in the window directly on them (that's a no-no).

Saturday morning I did a photoshoot for a family with a new little girl. I hoped to finish up by lunch time so I could get up to Crop Till Ya Drop for their monster crop. I'd told Terry that I would be late, but I didn't think I'd be as late as I was. I didn't finish up with the photoshoot until 1.30, then had to start to packing and printing photos. Was soon ready to go, when I realised Brett had taken the nappy bag, and I'd forgotten to get my keys out of there. Bags packed, photos printed, and no car keys :( Finally found his new mobile number and called and he came home from Red Hill and I left. 3.30 I got there. It was supposed to be 10am - 10pm. I still got to scrap for quite a few hours, enjoy some yummy pizza, and great company. Louise was there so it was great to catch up with her, as I haven't been able to get to mum's group for months!

I completed these two layouts and almost finished a third. I did break my challenge rules, but I only bought the paper. How gorgeous are the We are Memory Keepers Comstock papers! I think I bought the entire set.

Sunday morning we had Hannah's dedication at church. I still need to download the photos, but will share soon. It was great to have Dave's family at church for the morning too. Liam went off happily to kids church, but Ethan was quite upset to be left at creche. We made it through till the end of the dedication when one of the girls came and got Brett. Poor little darling had settled down, but then started crying again, and they couldn't calm him down. We had to sneak out of church early to get to my other nephews (Will) 3rd birthday party in Prahran. It was a great afternoon with Will, as well as the rest of our family. Sharnie did such a fantastic job with Will's cakes, I'll have to upload a photo soon.

Late last night after we got home, we got a call from Brett's uncle Ash. They live in Beechworth and were comming down to Melbourne and wanted to stay the night. They know they are always welcome! So after work today I had to clean out the spare room and change the sheets. Was almost finished doing that when mum called to say Dad is in hospital! Apparently he had 'a turn' last night after Will's party, and said he didn't feel well and went to bed early. Today mum said he again had a turn and looked quite ill. He went to the Doctors, who phoned his cardiologist, and they put him in hospital for monitoring. While they were monitoring him he again had another turn. They have said he is ok, that his pacemaker is probably just playing up a little. He will be fine, but they just want to monitor him. It's so scarey to suddenly realise your parents are getting old. Dad has always been so fit, he swims every morning, and plays golf a couple of times a week. He only retired two years ago. I hate those late night phone calls, when I know as soon as I hear mums voice that she is goint to tell me there is something wrong. All I can do in those few short seconds is pray that it's not bad news. It scares me to think one day the inevitible will probably happen and I will get one of those bad news phone calls, but it scares me even more to know that my parents haven't been saved. I can only pray that they will be, and they will come to know Jesus as their saviour before that day. We all have to go somewhere, and I know where we want to go! Please pray for them :(

Katie, your parents will be in my prayers. I think we all know instictively that something is wrong when we receive those late night phone calls.

Glad to hear that you had a chance to crop and really loving both the layouts.

Hey Katie, I know what you mean about your parents and them not being saved. I'm not really sure where my parents are with God... they used to be church-goers years ago and they believe in God but I'm not sure if they are 'saved' and will go to heaven, I guess only God knows that... and with Mum in hospital so sick lately, that thought (fear) crossed my mind on a few occasions. I will pray for your parents.

And good thing it was a 12-hour crop, so you still got in a few good hours. Great layouts.

P.S. also noted that you'd said you were bummed you missed the SoF tin class last week, I know that Sal has scheduled a new time-slot (30th I think), maybe you can do that one? If not, would love ya in my class for Sept :D
