catch up and clean up

It's been a busy few days, but I'm still here. I started to clean my desk yesterday, and decided I would make some layouts with the left overs that were cluttering up my work space. Remember last year I challenged myself to make 10 layouts with my stash... well I think it's time for another challenge like that. Who wants to join me? You can make anything you want, layouts/btp/cards etc as long as you use stuff that is already in your stash. NO EXTRA SHOPPING! I hate having heaps of stash lying around not getting used, then by the time you are ready to use it, it's 'old stuff'. I don't understand those (lucky) girls that feautre in mags like CK who have entire walls chocka-block with cardstock, and huge sets of drawers filled with every imaginable embellishment... who could seriously use that much stuff! So come on girls, join me in clearing out (and using) some of that dusty stash, make 10 layouts (etc) using stuff you already have on hand. Then imagine the shopping you'll be able to do after :)

So here are my first two layouts, and I'm currently working on the third. I did start the Leg up one at the crop the other week, but it wasn't happening. Time to chill and just throw together some stuff - it may work, it may not... you'll still have a memorable layout, and a dint in your stash.

So I used the Deja Views papers, silk flower, Karen Foster biggie brad, a feather that came on a hens night invitation, a bookplate (that thing has been on my desk for MONTHS!), brads and HS letters.

Then I used BG paper, it is newish, but it was in my stash! Collections brackets, HS Chipboard letters (the e and g were red), mm paint, Junkitz photo turns and brads, scraps of ribbon and Danny O letters.

So run down on the last few days. Thursday had photoshoot, while Liam was at pre-school and thankfully Ethan slept through the entire thing... it was a last minute one, and the mum told me she'd look after him while I took the photos.

Looked after Aidan Friday, then dropped all three boys at mums a 6.00 and went out to dinner for DH work. Great night, great company.

Today was supposed to be a photoshoot of Hannah on the beach... it got moved indoors! So far they look great though. So now I have lots of editing to do, and the inlaws comming for dinner.

Have a great weekend everyone, and please join me in my challenge!

UMMM, Katie i think you would have a heart attack if you saw my room. I think i could scrap for 1 whole year and not buy a single thing. I think my biggest problem is working in a scrap shop LOL... I love the new stuff as well. But i always try and use up my stash as well.

So great to catch up with you last week. Paul loved the photos. May have to start using them before getting them edited. I can't wait! You are sooo talented!

As for your challenge - I'm in. As long as it doesn't include new stock that's arriving this week, because you know I'm not going to be able to keep my hands off those Heidi Swapp chipboard frames!

Hey Katie, count me in on the challenge. So need to stop buying stuff and get scrapping. Will hopefully get my first LO done tomorrow.

I was acutally thinking 10 may be too much for a lot of people... I do scrap pretty fast. No cut off date, no pressure, just try and make something (or two somethings) using your stash.

Jess, the beach ones are finished, just have to do the studio ones. Not too many of them so won't be long. I'll post the disk to you and Ethan's top... unless I'll see you again soon.

Katie, love the Leg up layout. I'll be on the challenge, I've already done two, but the first only used old fonts which I downloaded quite some time ago... does that count?!

I've been on a self-imposed scrap shopping ban since Tuesday ROFL... but seriously I've been trying to use up some of my 'old' stuff for a while... There's so much $$ sitting there, it's silly to not use it up... I'll be in on your challenge too... I've only just finished my lo from Kim's Thurs night class too, and my desk looks like a bomb's hit it... xx
