BIG weekend!

What a big and fantastic weekend. I've been off at the Scrapanalia retreat at Kalorama. Devine location, brilliant facilities, fantastic staff, and above all else FABULOUS company.

I set off on Friday afternoon, after Grandparents day at Liam's school. Carolyne and Megan... who has SO far to travel (like 5 minutes!) got there nice and early. Left mum at home with the boys, and after she'd told me the 'easiest' way to get there - which had me lost by about Berwick or Clyde, I set off to B's work to swap cars. While I was there, I got three other sets of directions on the easiest way to get there, and decided to take Leigh's as it was less roads to remember, even if the traffic may have been bussier. As I set off, the ever go gorgeous Carolyne and Megan called again to see if I'd left, and gave me another set of directions. Being locals... I took theirs! Thanks darl, they were great. So I made it there around 6.45 I think. Settled in, ate a delish dinner baked salmon, followed by triple layer gateaux (sp?) with berries. YUM. Then headed off to scrap until the wee small hours of the morning. It really was fantastic company. Regardless of whether anyone knew lots of people or no one, everyone mixed and chatted and helped and borrowed. It was so great to catch up with girls I don't get to see enough. I've missed you girls!

Saturday morning came way too soon. I once again found myself wishing I'd gone to bed earlier LOL, but once I was up and going I was good. I taught my class at 10.30, then had a delish lunch of beautiful sandwiches and fruit. Stayed and had a cuppa with my girls, before heading back to scrap the rest of the day away. Once again, had a delish dinner (lamb cutlets) then scrapped and scrapped and scrapped. I had told the girls to take my stuff away from me at midnight and make me go to bed, and I thought it was around 11pm when Ruey pointed out it was way past midnight! LOL. Went to bed at 1.30 and chatted and laughed with Megan until around 2ish. Man that girl makes me laugh with the funniest stories.

What would a Sunday morning be without bacon and eggs. Mmmm they were yummy. Some (like Megan) joined in the Tai Chi (sp?) class before breaky. Carolyne and I chose the sleep in instead ;) Scrapped away, stopped for lunch (quiche and salad) then scrapped a little more, before Renata arrived to lead us through her class. We made 'sugar cubes' which are gorgeous little chipboard boxes, with three tiny albums inside. I think I have to make more... and I am not a mini album kind'a girl.

After Renata's class I was missing my boys, and it was pretty much time to pack up and head off. A 'few' trips to the car (how much shopping did I do?!) and I was set.

Arrived home safe and sound, and couldn't wait to wrap my arms around my boys! Ahhhh, I missed them! It was SO nice to have a break away. No cooking or cleaning, no sorting out fights, no having to think and do for everyone esle. It was devine. And now I am home, so glad to be around my family again. Refreshed and revived, and ready. Ready to enjoy them. Ready to be nagged again ;) Just thankful I have them. Thankful I have a wonderful DH who will 'hold the fort' while I take a break. Thankful I have such wonderful friends to escape with.

If you have never been to a Scrapanalia Retreat, you HAVE to go! Jess is very fussy with venue and it seriously was wonderful. Thanks Jess, you are wonderful! xoxoxox

I'll upload my little creations later, probably tomorrow. Right not I'm exhausted, and want to get off this computer and go spend some time with my three boys.
