Light hearted quotes, and heavy hearted moments

I baby sat my nephew Aidan on Friday while my sister worked (as I usually do). Together him and Liam make THE BIGGEST mess of Liam's room. Everything ends up on the floor, and I mean EVERYTHING! All the boxes and baskets of toys on the shelf, all the books... all on the floor. The toys from the toybox... all on the floor. Even his shoe basket was emptied out, and all of his drawers. Emptied out and the clothes on the floor. Drives me crazy. I spend a good 45 minutes putting everything away, vacuuming, mopping and dusting. His room now sparkles, and he knows he had better not let it happen again. After the big clean I headed up to the study to do a little work. He came in, stood by my side and said "thank you SO much mummy for cleaning up my room. And I won't ever let it get that messy again." I did as most mummy's would probably do, and melted. Told him that was OK and that I love him etc. So off he trotts back down the hallway to Brett. As he departs I overhear this...

"Daddy, I said it to her... now can I have a chocolate?"

On to the heavy hearted moments.
My SIL went into hospital yesterday to deliver their baby. It was a little boy. Although we all knew right from the begining that it was a risky pregnancy, and there was a good chance the baby wouldn't make it, we thought we were prepared for the worst. But when they said those words... "It was a little boy", it just hit me like a rock. It wasn't just a miscarriage. It wasn't just a bundle of cells that wasn't developing properly. It was their baby. It was their son. As Lisa said in the last post, he was a son, nephew, grandson, brother and cousin. He is the little boy we will never get to know.

The hospital took photos for them and stamped his footprints. They didn't want to see the photos, so they have been given them on CD, to look at when they are ready. Does anyone have any nice ideas for something I could make?

I've had 10 of the Scrap Pile girls here today for a scrap... and lots of food. I didn't get much scrapped during the day, but did manage to get three layouts done. It was great to catch up with Megan and Sofi again. Had a lovely chat with Jane and Sarah tonight. So great to catch up with everyone. My hubby has just been wonderful to take the boys for so much of the weekend. Especially as it's his last day of holidays. It's back to work tomorrow. I've loved having him home for the past three weeks. We've got lots done around the house, and it's just nice to have his company. I suppose it will be nice to get myself into a new routine now too though. The routine of a WAHM.

I'm sorry to hear the sad news about your Brother's baby :o( **Hugs to you all**

On a lighter note, the bit about the mess in the bedroom really made me giggle. Guess I've got all that to come, and she makes enough mess as it is! Eek!

Thank you for such a wonderful day Katie. I wish I could have stayed longer! It was wonderful to catch up with everyone.

I let out an "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!when I read about the chocolate!

I wish I could find the right words to say for the loss of your SIL's baby boy. There is a little angel up in heaven right now, looking down on your family. Big hugs to you all.

So sorry to hear the sad news about your precious nephew.

Maybe you could make them a shadow box frame to store the little foot and hand prints?

Take care

Really sad about the bub. I reckon Wendy's idea of the shadow box is nice! Will be thinking of you and the family this week

Hi Katie,
What about making an altered journal for your SIL? She could journal her thoughts and even add other bits and pieces (The footprints, any photos, newspaper clippings etc)
