Weird feelings

Yesterday after speech I decided to take the boys to the George Pentland Botanic Gardens in Frankston. It's right next to the hospital, and as part of our new routine 9-12 Tuesday mornings is 'kids time'. Although speech fits into that time every second week. Liam did great at speech, and Lisa was very impressed with his progression. I realised after we got there though that in our rush I'd left the snack bag on the bench at home. Not to worry, we just ducked up to the local bakery for a bottle of water, some bread rolls and two little gingerbread men. Picnic sorted! Liam hadn't been to this park before and was very excited to try out all the equipment. He was facinated when I told him this was the park I used to play at when I was little, and was full of questions on what I used to do etc. I parked Ethy (asleep) in the pram close by, and together Liam and I climbed the tower (pic of Liam on the stairs). As I steped on the stars, I instantly remembered that because of the shape of them you have to walk on the outside. All of a sudden an overwhelming feeling came over me. I can't describe it, but it was just amazing. The memory of me walking up those stairs holding the hand of my parents, or brother or sister was so clear in my mind; and here I was holding my own childs hand as we climbed together. A weird feeling, but a beautiful feeling. We played, we walked, we looked at the ducks (Liam chased them.) Ethan woke and had a play. We ate our picnic. Then Liam took some photos with my camera. Haven't touched these up at all, except for a slight levels adjustment on the ant pic, as it was in the shade, and the camera was on manual, set for full sun. Did a pretty great job didn't he! Think I have myself a little assistant :) Not only is he great at making babies laugh, he's pretty stinkin' good behind the camera too! Better than I could have taken at 24, let alone 4! I put the 50mm lens on the camera, as it's small and light, and told him he had to keep the camera strap around his neck, that was it. He chose what he was going to take photos off, and framed things so well. Love the ant pic... that shows great imagination I think. We do also have lots of photos of feet, fences and a fire hydrant LOL
